ABOUT THE ARTIST

 Growing up in the small mountain town of Mammoth Lakes California, Matt’s love for the outdoors started at a very young age. He spent his time hiking, skiing, and fishing in the beautiful mountain scenery of the West Coast. This was the stunning backdrop that inspired his passion for art. 

After leaving Mammoth and pursuing an education in graphic design, he quickly realized that life behind a computer screen would not fulfill his creative passions or love for nature. Matt sold his belongings and moved to the beautiful mountain scape of Chamonix, France. Here he spent his time snowboarding, painting murals, and falling deeper in love with the artistic beauty of the world around him. 

After years living the life of a true “ski bum” Matt returned to his California roots to pursue the life of a Hollywood stuntman. This has been an exciting career that has allowed Matt the free time to remain creative and explore even more of the world. He has since lived all over the south including Louisiana and now Georgia where he resides with his wife and 2 sons. And through all the journeys he has always prioritized time for his artwork. Matt's life as a nomad has given him the opportunity to explore parts of the world from the beautiful California mountain ranges, to the Swiss Alps, and even the historic beauty of the Cajun Louisiana bayous.
